MERIDIAN YOGA

Meridian Yoga is a special form of yoga developed by the Shiatsu masters Shitsuto Masunaga and Yogi Vijay. This yoga specifically addresses the Masunaga meridian system used in Shiatsu. Thus, every exercise, every stretch, becomes an expression of one of the Five Elements: Metal, Earth, Fire, Water, and Wood. Simultaneously, two of the 14 meridians and their associated qualities and abilities are activated and harmonized.

Meridian Yoga teaches a loving and productive approach to one’s own limitations. It shows a way to transform stress and tension into vibrant energy. Meridian Yoga calms and deepens the breath, relaxes and strengthens the muscles, and harmonizes posture. It bestows a vibrant, contented sense of well-being and an alert, serene mind.

 

We teach Meridian Yoga Sets 1 through 4 – four progressive sets of stretching exercises. With a little practice, each set can be completed in about 15 minutes.

Meridian Yoga is therefore a wonderful way to effectively and quickly relieve stress and physical tension in everyday life without outside help, to regenerate more easily, and to develop a healthy, vibrant sense of well-being.

We offer introductory Meridian Yoga sessions in private individual or group lessons (90-120 minutes) as well as in our open group classes (60 minutes).
